Clock Middle Section We are going to use a fairly big canvas as I like to see what I am doing. First make a new folder called clock and put it somewhere easy to find like your desktop. Ready to go, then lets open up PI and get started. This is the middle section of the clock, we start with it as some of the parts will be duplicated and re sized in the other sections. Open a new image 450 x 450, colour white. Select the path drawing tool, shape rectangle 3D round, select your wood preset and we are ready to make the clock.
Draw a rectangle somewhere about 175 x 335, depending on how long you want your unique clock to be. Reduce the border to 5. This is the back panel so we want this a bit darker so we get a sense of perspective so convert it to an image object and use the burn tool to darken it up. Make the shape size around 40 and the level 65 so you can burn the whole thing in 4 or 5 moves top to bottom. Next still with rectangle, draw a long thin shape the same length as the rectangle we started with. On the path panel box increase the border up to 7 or as far as it will go. If the shape is a little on the wide side use the transform tool to make it a little narrower, duplicate this piece and we now have the two outer side parts. Using the same method, make two horizontal rectangles for the bottom and top edges, making them just a little wider than the original rectangle. Before we go on, open another canvas and duplicate your four edge pieces, drag the pieces onto the new canvas and save it as ufo01 to the folder you made.
Next we need a nicely shaped decorative piece for the top inside part, this is where the pendulums will hang from. Choose a shape you like. I used a rectangle then added nodes to alter the shape to look like this one. Place it in position at the top of the rectangle, resizing as necessary. Add a shadow using the first box with the x and y offset at 7, don't worry if you can see parts of the shadow, as we will cover them with other pieces.
Now Grandfather clocks have doors and doors have frames so lets make one. Path Outline tool this time, same wood, draw a rectangle, 3D border 7 depth 2, big enough to sit on top of the original rectangle. Place it roughly in position then resize to fit snugly on top of the rectangle.

Lets move all the edge pieces in now so they are sitting round the outside of the clock. Now some decoration for the edge pieces, I used round shape 4 and a copper 7, if you like play around here and make your clock look unique by changing the decorations. Mine are little rectangles to fit on the ends of the long edges. If you are going to do as I did, and use the same ones another section, duplicate these and save on a new image then save them in your clock folder as ufodeco. Now I have my long side pieces with metallic rectangles on each end. While still on the metallic preset choose a shape to make a door handle, duplicate and save the duplicated piece. I used the same copper 7 and shape, plaque 3, then resized it to fit. Position it on the left side of the door frame. Now get the hinge you downloaded, re size it if needed, also colour it if you like and then duplicate three times. Save two of the duplicates to use later. Position the other two on the right side of the frame near to the edge but not on the side edge. Use the layer manager to select everything except the top inside piece, door frame, handles and hinges. Merge the remaining parts as a single object. Save as ufomiddle to your clock folder and leave it open in the workspace for a moment or two as we need to match the size of the base to this. You should have something like this, see the image on your left.
