Grandfather Clock. Part Three.
|
The Clock Case Again this is an easy part to do as we have most of the parts ready to assemble Open all three of your saved ufo files. Drag the handle and hinges from the first to a new image. Close that ufo01 now, we are finished with it. Drag the parts from ufo02 on to the same new image. We don't need the two decorative parts. Leave them and close ufo02 now. Open ufodeco and drag these parts to your new image. Close ufodeco. Now we are ready to give the clock case a door. Outline drawing tool same settings as for the door in part one. Wood preset, shape rectangle, 3D border 7 depth 2, draw a shape to big sit on top of the rectangle. Place on top of the rectangle and resize as needed. Place the outside edges in position and then and any other decoration you want to use. Leave the hinges and handle to the side.

Before we finish with the wood lets decorate the top of the case. This is very much a personal choice. Here is what I did. Duplicate one of the bottom edges, you will find it easier to do this using the layer manager since our clock case is not merged. Move it up to the top using the arrow keys. Resize it so it becomes a bit wider and comes out to either side of the top edge of the clock case. Still using the same wood, I drew a half circle and resized it to fit making it approximately one third of the height of the clock case. Use the burn tool to darken the top of the circle. Add some more decoration similar to what you used on the clock base. Leave the hinges and handle to the side. Select all except the door frame and merge as single object. Save as ufotop. We can put the wood working tools away now, and go on to design and build the clock and pendulums. Sweep up any sawdust and move to part 4:-)
