==================================

Prehistoric Scottish History.

These pages are dedicated to my brother, Billy and sister in law Christine, without who's help I would not have been able to get these photographs, Christine, has however, suggested I get myself a 4 wheel drive wheelchair:)

Photography.

All of the photographs on these pages are copyright to me.
Please do not take them from these pages.
They will soon be added to my graphics section for download.
Thanks.

These pages are graphic intensive so please be patient while they load.

The first three photographs you see were not taken in Kilmartin Glen.
In fact we were a bit surprised when we found this, as all
we were doing was wandering around a beautiful garden.
At Crarae Gardens which has one of the best collections of
Rhododendrons in Scotland.

Crarae is in Argyllshire sitting near the shores of Loch Fyne.

These are views of a Neolithic Burial Cairn circa 2500 BC.

cairn

This picture was taken on top of the mound looking down into the Cairn.

cairn

This one from "ground level" looking through an opening into the Cairn.

cairn

This one shows the Cairn from the back.
The two large upright stones are in front of the opening down,
into the Cairn as you saw in the first picture.
The drop down you can see is what I classed as ground level.

graves

These last two pictures are just to give you an idea of what the surroundings look like.
The first is very near to the Cairn and is a picture taken looking over the top of an old graveyard towards Loch Fyne.

The second, speaks for itself, just a view of these lovely gardens.

As you can see from the changes in sky colour Scotland does like to keep us guessing with the weather, all of these photos having been taken within a one hour period.
